NEW BATTALION STANDING UP ABOARD 29 PALMS MARINE BASE

A new battalion is standing up at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Thursday. Prior to standing up the Communication Training Battalion, all Marine officers with a communications military occupational specialty were trained in Quantico, Virginia. Now both Marine officers and enlisted personnel in tactical communications will be trained at the Marine Corps Communications and Electronics School in Twentynine Palms. The new battalion added 76 permanent personnel and will train about 220 officer students per year. The activation ceremony for the Communication Training Battalion is set for 10 a.m. March 12 at Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray Field.
