Compound YV presents needles on the ocean floor, a solo exhibition by Yucca Valley-based artist Ethan Primason, on view from April 13 through June 9.
The show is a collection of steel sculptures that the gallery says focuses on balance and weight as reflected in both material and composition.
Through chiseling, cutting, and grinding, raw material is transformed and repurposed, largely coming from materials gathered and left over from the artist’s work as a fabricator.
The gallery calls his work a reflection of practice: the cycle of production, evaluation, re-production, re-evaluation.
If that sounds interesting to you the gallery is having an opening reception Saturday evening from 6 to 10 PM – and the gallery and show will be open to the public Friday through Sunday from 12 to 5PM at Compound art gallery in Yucca Valley.
