The desert is beginning warm up, and it is the perfect time to work in your garden. That’s why the Joshua Basin Water District is holding their Spring Native Plant Sale on Sunday, March 27. Reporter Jef Harmatz has details about the big event.
With all proceeds benefitting Joshua Tree National Park and the Joshua Basin Water District Wildcrafting Program, this native plant sale features all of your favorite desert plants. Cat’s Tongue, Desert Willow, bladderpod, paperbag and creosote bushes, Mojave yuccas, Desert Lavender, and so many more of the heartiest, loveliest, and lowest-water use plants in the world will be available. Seedlings cost $9 each, or three for $25. There will also be a free seed and plant swap booth, alongside tips for wildcrafting. The Spring Native Plant Sale runs from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 27 at the Joshua Basin Water District main office, located at 61750 Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
