National Park Service says they will be hiring seasonal workers for busy spring season

Following up on our recent story about seasonal hires at Joshua Tree National Park, the NPS provided Z107.7 with a statement.

On February 14, six rangers were dismissed as part of federal government-wide layoffs, and Joshua Tree National Park is currently at the cusp of it’s busiest season.

A representative from the National Parks Conservation Association said that Joshua Tree National park rangers have expressed concern at their ability to hire seasonal employees, saying that the resources are thin already without engaging in additional rounds of hiring.

The statement from the NPS says, “The National Park Service is hiring seasonal workers to continue enhancing the visitor experience as we embrace new opportunities for optimization and innovation in workforce management. We are focused on ensuring that every visitor has the chance to explore and connect with the incredible, iconic spaces of our national parks.”
