If you haven’t purchased your annual pass for the Joshua Tree National Park yet, now is the time to do it. Officials are reminding the public that new, increased park entrance fees go into effect this Friday. Reporter Tanisha Cureton explains the important dates…
Park entrance fees for Joshua Tree National Park and other national parks will increase as of on June 1. The public still has time to purchase the annual park pass for $40 before it increases to $55. The additional revenue from entrance fees will be used to fund several projects to enhance visitor experiences and maintenance. Upcoming projects include a new visitor center at the Cottonwood entrance; a new trailhead and parking for Samuelson’s Rock; relocation of the west entrance to help ease congestion; and a facelift at Black Rock campground. Annual passes are available at all visitor centers and entrance stations. For more information, visit www.nps.gov/jotr.
