Jessica Bryant is an artist in residence at Joshua Tree National Park who was here in November and again in April. During her residency, she helped teach fifth- and sixth-graders about art, such as drawing skills, focusing on observation, and value rendering. As part of her outreach project, the
students painted three landscapes: sunrise at the Cholla cactus garden, midday in Lost Horse Valley, and sunset at Quail Springs. The finished paintings will be donated to the Friendly Hills Elementary School.
