NATIONAL DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY IS TOMORROW

This Saturday is National Drug Take-Back Day. Reporter Mike Lipsitz urges you to dispose of those old prescriptions with the Sheriff’s Department…
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs. On Saturday, April 29, bring your pharmaceuticals for disposal to the Morongo Basin Sheriff Station on the highway at White Feather Road in Joshua Tree between from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. This effort addresses a public safety and health issue because medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. And flushing unwanted drugs or throwing them in the trash pose potential safety and health hazards.
