Another person was saved from overdosing on fentanyl through the administration of naloxone on Friday (October 20), in the second reported overdose in the high desert in as many weeks.
County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a possible overdose in the 6300 block of Mojave Ave in Twentynine Palms at around 2 a.m. They found an unresponsive person suffering from the symptoms of a fentanyl overdose, who they identified as a 21 year-old female resident of Twentynine Palms.
Deputies administered two doses of Nasal Naloxone to the woman, which reversed the effects of the overdose and the female regained consciousness. San Bernardino County Fire Department and Morongo Basin Ambulance arrived at the residence and stabilized the female, who was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center (HDMC) for further treatment.
A similar series of events played out on October 10, when a Yucca Valley man was saved from an apparent fentanyl overdose by the administration of three doses of naloxone by authorities.
