A naked Landers man was arrested Monday morning after he tried multiple times to attack Sheriff’s deputies. Deputies were called to the 1800 block of Yucca Mesa Road in Landers because Timothy Olivar, 30, was running around naked, carrying a pole. Residents complained that Olivar was going up on their porches and knocking on their doors and windows. When deputies arrived, he at first tried to flee before surrendering. Deputies said Olivar showed obvious signs of being under the influence of a stimulant drug and he was taken to the Morongo Basin Jail. Before Olivar was booked, he charged a deputy; two other deputies intervened and pulled him off. When deputies placed Olivar in a cell to sober up, he again attacked another deputy by grabbing his lower legs in an attempt to take him down. The other deputies restrained Olivar. He was then placed in a patrol car to be taken to West Valley Detention Center. When the deputy and Olivar arrived at West Valley, Olivar began banging his head against the partition between the front and back seats. When a deputy opened the patrol car’s rear door, Olivar kicked the door into the deputy and tried to kick a second deputy. Timothy Olivar was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
