ATMs are usually found in or near stores or banks, or other high-traffic areas. But about 11 a.m. Sunday morning, a Twentynine Palms Sheriff’s deputy was called about a Tranax ATM that was found in a dumpster behind the Stater Brothers grocery store. The machine was locked and appeared to be empty, but it did not appear to be damaged or tampered with. The deputy called the ATM company with the serial number, but it could not provide any information about where it came from. The deputy also contacted the surrounding businesses, but no one reported a missing ATM. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
