For the meeting’s agenda, there will be a final audit for 2023-24 from Smith, Marion, and Co, and a mid-year budget review. The Board will discuss further action to form a Community Relations Ad Hoc Committee, aiming to organize community participation for potential projects to improve the district. The Board will start the nomination process for the 2024 Chuck Osborne Award, given to a community member who has shown outstanding volunteer service to Morongo Valley. A proposal has been made for the District to conduct a year-in-review to enhance transparency by showcasing the District’s 2024 accomplishments to the public, and the Board will discuss adding this as a feature to their social media.
Other action items include Covington Park lock upgrades, the future of repairs to medic engine 461, virtual workshops for Board members, purchase of a 55-gallon barrel of diesel exhaust fluid, and finally, the Board will discuss utilizing the Public Safety Employee Assistance Program, which provides counseling and other services to help high-stress employees get the support they require.
