Director Kathryn Ferguson said it was an easy choice to direct “Once Upon A Mattress” “because of the strong female characters and the important story told through humor and music.” Ferguson also designed a kingdomful of costumes with a team of volunteer sewers. The production is choreographed by Assistant Director Lisa Goldberg. The cast features Kylie Robinson as quirky Princess Winnifred and Noah Wahlberg as her suitor, the Prince. The boisterous Queen Aggravain is Kelly Ebsary and the King is Cruz Jimenez; The play also features Robert Ames, Kevin Myers and Charles Harvey, plus Natalie Stokes and John Pollnow. The ensemble includes Ariel Montes, Anna Pollnow, Adonai Patu, Ethan Flores, Anna Alkire, Katelyn Coleman, Cathy Inscore, Anna Carnes, Ethan Woolever, Jocelyn Gonzalez and Josiah Ruiz.
“Once Upon A Mattress” will run Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through December 15. Tickets are $10 to $15 and are available at theatre29.org or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
