MUSD TO VOTE ON 2022-2023 BUDGET

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet tonight in regular session with a vote scheduled for next year’s preliminary budget.

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet in regular session tonight (June 28) at Joshua Tree Elementary School with closed session beginning at 6:30 p.m. and open session beginning at 7:00 p.m. The trustees will conference with legal counsel and labor negotiators during closed session.

Several presentations are scheduled for open session, including a presentation from Dr. Daniele Snider, Director of Elementary Curriculum, on the district’s Pre-Kindergarten Program. Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services Amy Woods will also present information to the board regarding the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (or ELOP) and the Local Indicators for the California School Dashboard, an accountability system that utilizes multiple measures to inform educators, parents, and the public of student achievement.

Later, the board will vote to adopt the Local Control Accountability Plan (or LCAP), as well as the Budget Overview for Parents, for the 2022-2023 school year. They will also vote to adopt the 2022-2023 Preliminary Budget.
