MUSD seeking appointments for Board of Trustees

With a lack of candidates filing to run for open positions, the Morongo Unified School District is now accepting applications for appointments to the MUSD Board of Trustees.

The District reports that there is a lack of candidates running to represent Areas 2 and 3 of the district for the November election, and so the positions will be filled by an appointment made by the remaining board members.

MUSD District 2 covers north and eastern portions of Twentynine Palms. MUSD District 3 covers Morongo Valley, Landers, Homestead Heights and a portion of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. You can use a link in this story to view the specific borders of each district.

Trustees will work with other board members and district employees to guide the direction of public education for the Morongo Unified School District.

Eligible candidates must be a resident of the district in which they seek to represent, and must be 18 years or older. Any district employee who seeks the position must resign before their position before being sworn in.

Applications must be submitted for consideration by October 24.

For more information, you can contact the Superintendent’s office at 760-367-9191, extension 4221
