The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet in regular session tonight (August 9) at Joshua Tree Elementary School with closed session beginning at 6:30 p.m. and open session beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Closed session will include conference with legal counsel and labor
negotiations.
A busy open session is planned for the evening as the Board of Trustees look ahead to the 2022-2023 school year. First, the board will conduct a public hearing for contract agreements reached with California School Employees Association (CSEA), the Morongo Teachers Association (MTA), and Management, Supervisory, Confidential, and Contracted Employees.
Later, they will vote to approve the tentative agreements between MUSD and the CSEA, MTA, and other district employees. In addition, the board will appoint Superintendent Patricio Vargas as Secretary to the Board.
The trustees will also vote to apply for funding for stadium improvements at Twentynine Palms High School, and they will later vote to authorize a bid for ESports laptops and accessories to Staples Technology Solutions, among other action items.
