It was standing-room only at last night’s (May 10) regular session meeting of the Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees as dozens of teachers and classified employees were recognized by the board in honor of the Day of the Teacher and Classified School Employees Week.

Later in the meeting, Yucca Valley High School Counselor Lynn Warden presented information to the board regarding a recent symposium on mental health attended by counselors in the district. She spoke about the importance of variability in counseling services and mental health, in addition to how to effectively use date and resources currently available within the district to address the diverse mental health needs of all students.   The trustees later voted unanimously to approve a contract for inspection services for the Twentynine Palms High School Stadium Improvement Project, as well as architectural and designing services for bleacher and press box upgrades for the stadium. They also approved a contract for carpeting and flooring at various sites in the district for the 2022-2023 school year, in addition to approving next year’s board meeting calendar
