The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet tonight (March 22) in regular session to discuss grant money and to vote on health and welfare providers for district employees. Assignment reporter Chris Fleischman joins us to break down tonight’s agenda…

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet in regular session tonight at Joshua Tree Elementary School with a work-study session beginning at 6 p.m., closed session at 6:15 p.m., and open session at 7 p.m. During the work-study session, the trustees will discuss the A-G Completion Grant. As part of their open session agenda, the board will vote to approve a change in health and welfare service providers to CalPERS, pending approval from the Morongo Teachers Association and the California School Employees Association. There will also be several board policy updates due to recent state legislation, including term renewal extensions for charter schools, updated procedures for sexual assault allegations in the district, and expanded background check requirements for contractors in the district.
