The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet tonight at Joshua Tree Elementary School with closed session beginning at 6:15, a work-study session beginning at 6:30, and open session beginning at 7:00 p.m. During closed session, the board will conference with legal council, in addition to holding labor negotiations with the Morongo Teachers Association and the California School Employees Association. The board will then discuss bond refinancing during their scheduled work-study session.
During open session, the board will hear presentations regarding the 2021 Annual Financial Audit and the Department of Defense Education Activity (or DoDEA) Grant. Later in the meeting, the board will also review multiple course outlines for DoDEA Exploration Labs. The trustees will also review the policy for electing delegates for the 2022 California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly.
Several action items are also scheduled for tonight’s agenda. The trustees will vote to approve the 2020-2021 School Accountability Report Cards which are listed on the MUSD website, as well as voting on an authorization to request a quote for re-painting Twentynine Palms High School. They will also vote to award a contract for upgrading the district’s network infrastructure switches, in addition to authorizing a “piggyback bid” with Val Verde Unified School District for classroom and office supplies.
