As part of their busy regular session meeting last night, the Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees heard a presentation from MUSD Special Education Local Plan Area Director Heidi Burgett spotlighting the Specialized Education Superheroes in the district. Honorees included Dr. Claudette Onumah, Richard Rossano, Amber Longueria, Brooke Cikaukas, Donna Petre, Katie Haberstroh, Nicole Aguayo, Kristina Brooke, Janet Barth, and Stephanie Bond. The board also heard a presentation from Ray Larsen on Delta Math, an online program which includes self-paced homework assignments and integrated instructional videos. Later, with the absence of Board Clerk Kerri Condley and member Cathy Nelson, the three board members in attendance voted unanimously on several action items, including approving the tentative agreement with the Morongo Teachers Association. The three members also approved the salary schedules for the superintendent, teachers, and management, in addition to approving contract addenda for the assistant superintendents and the expenditure plan for the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.
