During closed session of last night’s (April 19) meeting, the Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously voted to appoint Dr. Patricio Vargas to the position of District Superintendent, effective July 1, 2022. Dr. Vargas joins MUSD from the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, where he currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Dr. Vargas brings a variety of experiences to MUSD, including classroom teaching, as well as serving as Principal and Director of Assessment, Accountability and Educational Technology. In addition to his District-level position and responsibilities, Dr. Vargas also holds a position of Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Education at La Sierra University.
