The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of multiple bronze items at the Joshua Tree Memorial Park on the highway in Joshua Tree. Cemetery workers called deputies about 9:30 a.m. Friday morning to report that sometime between June 5 and 6, bronze marker plates, bronze flower vases, cremation rocks, and cenotaphs had been stolen, causing much damage to the cremation niches at the cemetery. The value of the items is estimated at $7400. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
