A motorhome is a total loss following a fire that closed eastbound lanes of Highway 62 in Yucca Valley just after midnight this morning. County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle said the motorhome was fully involved with flames when firefighters from Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, and CalFire arrived at the top of the eastbound Yucca Grade on Highway 62. Tuttle said the fire was knocked down in eight minutes, but they were there about an hour mopping up afterward. Both eastbound lanes of the highway were closed during the blaze. Tuttle said the cause appears to be mechanical failure.
