A motorcycle rider escaped serious injury Friday night when his motorcycle slid into a pick-up truck. About 5 p.m., the 22-year-old man was riding his motorcycle westbound on Amboy Road near Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms when he lost control and laid it down on the road. The bike and rider slid toward the pick-up truck. Twentynine Palms firefighters say the rider suffered road rash, but no broken bones. He was taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to the Yucca Valley airport and flown to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
