MOTORCYCLE RIDER INJURED IN SATURDAY AFTERNOON YUCCA VALLEY CRASH

A motorcycle rider was injured in a crash in Yucca Valley Saturday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Department said the man, identified only as being in his 20s, was riding his motorcycle westbound on Highway 62 and was aggressively passing vehicles. As the rider approached the entrance to the Von’s parking lot, a truck, traveling eastbound on the highway, turned into the parking lot entrance. The motorcycle hit the truck’s rear passenger quarter panel with enough force to sever the truck’s rear wheel. The rider suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his face and was taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
