The Circle C Lodge in Twentynine Palms had a fire in one of its guest rooms Friday night. According to Twentynine Palms Fire Chief Jim Thompson, firefighters from Twentynine Palms, the Combat Center, and County fire, were called to the motel at 6340 El Rey Avenue about 10:40 p.m., where they found a single guest room in flames. An adjoining room suffered light smoke damage. Because the occupant of the room was not present at the time of the fire, the Sheriff’s Arson and Bomb unit was called to investigate the cause of the fire. There were no injuries.
