The Morongo Volleyball Club under 18 girls volleyball team traveled to Anaheim Saturday to compete in the Southern California Volleyball Association second mandatory tournament. The team started out the morning with a close loss to Paradigm Volleyball Club of Yucaipa, losing 23-25 and 23-25. Next up was California Heat of Camarillo and a loss of 19-25 and 16-25. In the final match of the day the team faced Seal Beach Volleyball Club and came away with a victory 25-23 and 25-10. Leading the offensive attack were Sara Lopez and Ashley Priest with 15 kills each and Melissa Smith with eight kills. Next up for the team is the third mandatory tournament April 14 at a site to be determined.
