A Morongo Valley woman was killed in a rollover crash early Monday morning, and the driver from Yucca Valley was arrested, accused of driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol said Juan Franco, 33, was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla eastbound on Interstate 10, just west of the Highway 62 entrance ramp, when the car drifted onto the right shoulder. When Franco tried to steer it back into the freeway lanes, he lost control of the car and it went over the southern embankment and rolled over several times. His passenger, Tara Brown, 37, was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Franco was partially ejected and was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with life-threatening injuries. The CHP said that Juan Franco appeared to be intoxicated and he was arrested at the hospital.
