MORONGO VALLEY PLANS PUBLIC MEETINGS ON MEASURE “E” PARCEL FEE PROPOSAL

Morongo Valley voters will decide the future of paramedic and fire protection services there at the June 7 Primary Election. Labeled “Measure E,” the Community Services District worked to put the initiative on the ballot. Measure E calls for a flat $350 per parcel annual fee to replace the existing and variable property assessment in Morongo Valley. The Citizen’s Fire Committee has planned a series of community meetings to educate voters about Measure E and the alternatives. The next meeting is tonight at 6:30 p.m. with additional meetings scheduled for April 5 at 6:30 p.m., and April 16 and May 7 at 10:30 a.m. On April 12, the Community Services District will hold a 7 p.m. town hall gathering on Measure E. All of the meetings will take place in the Covington Park multipurpose room in Morongo Valley.
