MORONGO VALLEY MAN SUSPECTED OF DRUG SALES

A Morongo Valley man was arrested Thursday, accused of being a drug dealer. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a vehicle about 1:20 a.m. at Highway 62 and Elks Trail in Twentynine Palms for a broken tail light. The deputy determined that a passenger in the vehicle, Stewart Northrup, 54, had a warrant out for his arrest for various drug charges. A search of the vehicle found a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash. Northrup allegedly told the deputy he had purchased the drugs and intended to sell them. Stewart Northrup was arrested for investigation of possession for sales and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with bail set at $100,000.
