After allegedly choking a woman in Morongo Valley, a man was arrested in Desert Hot Springs for investigation into attempted murder.
Tuesday morning (January 21) at around 1:30 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in the 50600 block of Panorama Dr in Morongo Valley. The Sheriff’s Department said that the victim was choked by her boyfriend and called 911. The victim suffered from injuries to her face and was treated at the scene.
The boyfriend was identified by deputies as Michael Slate, and deputies say he fled to Desert Hot Springs. With assistance from the DHS Police Department, detectives with the Sheriff’s Department located Slate, he was arrested at around 9:30 a.m. in the 10600 block of Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs.
Michael Slate was arrested for investigation into attempted murder and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $1,000,000 bail.
