A Morongo Valley man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he crashed into a vehicle while driving under the influence. According to a Sheriff’s report, Tommy Gonzales, 20, was driving a white Dodge Dakota truck southbound on Old Woman Springs Road about 1 a.m. when he crossed the center line, just past Crestview, and crashed head-on into a 2005 Pontiac. A witness reported he was near the airport and heard the crash. The driver of the Pontiac sustained minor injuries and was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment. After investigation, Tommy Gonzales was arrested for felony DUI and on a warrant for hit-and-run. Gonzales was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with bail at $125,000.
