MORONGO VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING CASH FROM NEIGHBOR

A man who was helping a neighbor clean up thought he hit the mother lode when he found a large amount of cash, but he was arrested when he refused to return it to his neighbor. According to a Sheriff’s report, Ronald Svidergol, 52, was helping his neighbor clean in the 10,000 block of Fobes Road in Morongo Valley. About 3 p.m., the neighbor discovered that more than eight thousand dollars in cash was missing and confronted Svidergol. Svidergol refused to return the money and went to his home in the 51100 block of Aspen Drive. Along the way, Svidergol allegedly ran into a mutual friend and told him he was going to burn the money. The victim called deputies, who went to Svidergol’s residence. Svidergol refused to come out of his home, and deputies used force to put him on the ground, where they handcuffed him. In Svidergol’s front shirt pocket, deputies from nearly all the money that had been reported stolen. Ronald Svidergol was arrested for investigation of grand theft, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
