A Morongo Valley man was arrested Saturday, accused of trying to set his neighbor’s fence on fire. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 50400 block of Elm Street in Morongo Valley called deputies about 6:40 a.m. to report that his neighbor, Paul Hanrahan, 56, had broken his outdoor lights and started a fire on the outside of his chain link fence. Deputies located burnt pieces of wood and other materials used to start a fire at the scene. Evidence led deputies to Hanrahan’s home, and when deputies questioned Hanrahan, he admitted to breaking the lights and setting the fire in hopes the fire department would respond. Paul Hanrahan was arrested for investigation of arson, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000
