A Morongo Valley man was arrested Sunday (June 6), accused of making criminal threats against his neighbor. According to sheriff’s reports, deputies responded to the 49200 block of Big Morongo Canyon Road in Morongo Valley around 10 p.m. The reporting party stated that a neighbor, later identified as Nicklas Covey, 37 of Morongo Valley, had blocked their road and would not let her husband get through, and that Covey was making threats of physical harm against him. Deputies arrived soon after and located Covey. After an investigation, Nicklas Covey was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats and committing a felony while on bail, was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and later released on $50,000 bail.
