A Morongo Valley man was arrested Saturday after the CHP said he crashed into another car while high on drugs. About 1:30 p.m., Nathaniel Marquez, 20, was driving a 2005 Honda Civic westbound on Park Avenue in Morongo Valley. Donald Brake Jr., 64, from Morongo Valley, was driving a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country northbound on San Jacinto Street. As Marquez approached the intersection with San Jacinto Street, he failed to yield. Brake was unable to stop and crashed into the left front of Marquez’s Honda. Brake was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with minor injuries. Nathaniel Marquez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing bodily injuries, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
