A Morongo Valley man was arrested Tuesday, accused of beating up his mother’s boyfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called about 5:30 p.m. to the 9700 block of Lanning Lane in Morongo Valley for a report that a man was bleeding from the face. Deputies say that Michael Pollard, 39, struck the 66-year-old victim in the face multiple times, causing lacerations and swelling, and the victim was unable to open his right eye as a result of the beating. Michael Pollard was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
