A Morongo Valley man was arrested Sunday night, after neighbors say he beat a dog with a wrench. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were dispatched to the 49800 block of Visnaga Avenue about 9:15 p.m. for a report that a man, later identified as Charles Flowers, 23, had tied a wrench to a rope and hit a restrained pit bull with the wrench. The deputy observed swelling and injuries to the dog’s mouth. Flowers allegedly admitted to the deputy that he hit the dog. Charles Flowers was arrested for investigation of felony animal cruelty, and for failure to appear in court for driving with a suspended license. Flowers was booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $51,726.
