The Morongo Valley Fire Department is holding a drawing for nine smoke detectors. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says sign up to win before this Monday…
Established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, National Fire Prevention Week is October 9 through 15. This year’s theme is “Don’t wait, check the date.” The theme refers to the expiration date on your smoke alarm and is a reminder to replace it or change the battery. The Morongo Valley Fire Department marks the occasion by giving away smoke alarms. To win one of nine smoke alarms, sign up for the drawing at the Community Services District office Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. before October 17. Winners will be announced at the October 18 CSD meeting at the Covington Park Community Building. Call 760-363-6454 for more information.
