A Morongo Valley convicted felon was arrested Friday after he was found with a partially assembled semi-automatic rifle. Just before 4 p.m., deputies contacted Austin Toensing, 34, near Onaga Trail and Kickapoo Trail in Yucca Valley. During a search of Toensing’s backpack, deputies located a partially assembled AR-15 gun. According to deputies, the receiver block had not been milled and the weapon was not fully operational. Toensing, as a convicted felon, is not allowed to possess firearms. Deputies seized the semi-automatic rifle. Austin Toensing was released at the scene pending further investigation.
