MORONGO VALLEY CSD SEEKING APPLICANTS TO FILL BOARD VACANCIES

After two members of the Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors resigned in December, the remaining board members are seeking applicants to fill the vacant seats. If you are interested in serving on the CSD Board, reporter Jef Harmatz has details on how you can apply.

The CSD Board is a five-seat governing body that oversees parks, street lights, and fire services in Morongo Valley. As of December 15, there are two open seats on the board. The three remaining board members are expected to appoint new directors to fill the open seats, chosen from all qualified applicants, at the board’s January 19 meeting. Those appointed will serve through the end of 2022 and will be able to run in an election in November to keep their position for another term. To apply to be a CSD Director, you must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Morongo Valley, and registered to vote in San Bernardino County. You will also be asked to write a 500-word essay that explains your qualifications and reasons for seeking the director position. To pick up an application, visit the CSD front office at 11207 Ocotillo St. in Morongo Valley, Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. All applications are due by January 14.
