MORONGO VALLEY CSD MEETS, REOPENS OFFICE, PARK AND FIRE REMAIN CLOSED

The Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors held their regular board meeting last night. During the meeting, the Board announced that the CSD offices were opened on Thursday, May 28, and have resumed normal operating hours of Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, Covington Park and the Morongo Valley Fire Department building will remain closed to the public until further notice. Reporter Andrew Dieleman has more from that meeting…

At last night’s meeting, the Morongo Valley CSD Board of Directors approved a new set of by-laws for CSD employees and the fire department to better provide services to the community of Morongo Valley. During agency reports, the Board announced that the CSD is continuing to create a job description for combining the CSD’s General Manager and Fire Chief positions into one Director of Operations position and that a draft of the job description is anticipated to be completed in time for the Board’s regular meeting on July 15.

The Board also approved supplemental documents for the District’s recent audit, removed Cesar Chavez Day and Columbus Day from the CSD’s list of holiday closures, and voted to allow the Morongo Valley Sports League to use Covington Park for a drive-through, better-late-than-never Easter egg hunt for Morongo Valley children only. A date for the event is to-be-determined. The board also announced that Morongo Valley Fire Chief Gary Yearsley’s credentials will be posted on the CSD website and that all vehicles in the Morongo Valley Fire Department have received their annual maintenance.
