MORONGO VALLEY CSD ISSUES INTENT TO PURCHASE NEW FIRE VEHICLE… WITH CONDITIONS

The Morongo Valley Community Services District board of directors held a special meeting last night to discuss the purchase of a new brush engine for the Morongo Valley Fire Department. The nearly two-hour meeting included presentations from Fire Chief Gary Yearsley and Captain Brennian Gorter on the vehicle and the fire department’s need for it. After lengthy discussions on where funding would come from, whether the district could afford the vehicle, and possible alternative uses for the money; the board voted unanimously to authorize a letter of intent to purchase the $377,000 vehicle with the promise of placing a discussion on employee bonuses on the board’s upcoming July meeting agenda.
