The Morongo Valley Community Services District will be paying its new general manager less than originally planned. Reporter Dan Stork explains how this happened…
At the Wednesday night meeting of the Morongo Valley Community Services District, the Board of Directors approved a one-year compensation package for General Manager Donna Munoz. The salary was substantially less than what had initially been offered to Munoz, but the revision was at her request. When the position was initially offered to her, the annual salary was to be just about $50,000. But Munoz told Z107.7 that after studying the expenses facing the District, and since she is a resident of Morongo Valley, she “didn’t want to be part of the problem,” and asked that the salary be dropped from $950 per week to $694, or just over $36,000 per year. After some negotiation, the Board acceded to her request.
