MORONGO VALLEY CSD EXTENDS MUNOZ, GET FIRE PRESENTATION

The highlights of the Morongo Valley CSD meeting Wednesday night were the first report card for the new General Manager Donna Munoz, and an equipment description by the Fire Chief. Dan Stork spoke with Munoz and Board President Tolbert the morning after the meeting, and filed this report…
Donna Munoz, the General Manager of the Morongo Valley Community Services District, passed her evaluation after three months on the job with flying colors. In a closed session preceding the regular meeting Wednesday night, the three directors present at the beginning of the session unanimously agreed that Munoz had “exceeded expectations.” With the added assent of a late-arriving fourth director, the District Board awarded her a full 1-year contract, to May of next year. Board President Johnny Tolbert told us, “We are very proud of what Donna Munoz has done.” During the open meeting, Fire Chief Jock Johnson continued a series of educational presentations about the operation and support of the fire department. Starting with fire fighters in their basic around-the-station uniforms, Johnson described each piece of equipment and clothing as they donned it. When a firefighter was in full regalia, it represented about $11,000 in community investment.
