MORONGO VALLEY CSD DISCUSSES PARAMEDIC INCENTIVE PAY

The Morongo Valley Community Services District board met last night. Reporter Andrew Dieleman was there, and files this report…
At last night’s meeting, the Morongo Valley CSD board discussed a $25 payment incentive for on-shift paramedics. While all board members expressed the need for the incentive, the official vote on the matter was pushed to January pending correctly worded legislation. The board also discussed the renewal of CalFire contracts with Fire Chief Gary Yearsly, and voted unanimously to begin the process of replacing Fire Engine 462 after safety concerns, as well as the extent of the engine’s current damages were revealed. The board also voted unanimously to maintain the current seats on the board, electing no new officers. Board members Kristina Brook and Johnny Tolbert were selected to form an ad hoc committee for the annual Chuck Osborne Volunteer of the Year award; no official nominations for the award been made.
