MORONGO VALLEY CSD DISCUSSES OCTOBER “TRUNK OR TREAT” AND BROKEN FIRE ENGINE IN SPECIAL MEETING

At last night’s special meeting, the board offered their support for the “Trunk or Treat” event to be held on Saturday, October 30, at the Covington Park Community Center. The event will be an all day affair that will include pumpkin carving, a costume contest, and an arts and crafts pavilion. In his report on fire fighting strike teams, Morongo Valley Fire Chief Gerald Yearsley explained that a water tanker engine broke down on the job, and that repairs are estimated to cost nearly $9000, which the board would need to approve at their next meeting. Also pushed to October’s meeting were changes to policies concerning employee retirement funds and vacation benefits, which may require review from outside consultants.
