At last night’s board meeting of the Morongo Valley Community Services District there was extended discussion concerning the complexities and costs of performing an annual audit, then directors authorized one for this fiscal year for an estimated $7,925. Also last night the board set a budget workshop for 6 p.m. on June 14. Board president Gayl Swarat encouraged residents to attend and voice their opinions. And in his report from the Fire Tax Committee, Don Krouse talked about the difficult prospect of achieving the two-thirds majority vote needed to pass the special parcel tax, designated as Measure E on Morongo Valley ballots. Krouse encouraged voters to go to mvfirecitizencommittee.com and seek accurate information before making up their minds.
