MORONGO VALLEY CSD APPROVES PRELIMINARY BUDGET, LIFTS PARK MASK MANDATE

The Morongo Valley Community Services District board of directors held its regular monthly meeting last night where directors voted unanimously to lift mask mandates for all outdoor district facilities, including Covington Park. At last night’s meeting, the board also held a public hearing on the district’s preliminary budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. After much discussion, including lengthy clarifications on district employee salaries, the board voted unanimously to accept the preliminary budget. The board will hold another public hearing before voting to finalize the budget during the June 16 board meeting. The board also voted unanimously to purchase a $9,000 back-up heart monitor for the Morongo Valley fire department and held a brief discussion on authorized use of the fire department’s command vehicle. The board tabled discussions on district employee vacation time and salary amount for the Fire Chief position until the June 16 meeting.
