After a tumultuous few months that saw the resignation of two directors, the Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors appointed two replacements at last night’s meeting. Reporter Jef Harmatz has the details.
At last night’s regularly scheduled meeting, the CSD board interviewed seven applicants for the two open seats, and ultimately appointed Shawna Johnson and Jennifer Henning. During the interview process, the seven applicants were asked the same nine questions by CSD Board members. When asked about her priorities if she were appointed, Johnson said,
“Unity and funding. The community united and the funding we need to see the CSD running smoothly.” – Shawna Johnson, newly-appointed CSD Board Director
Henning said that she would like to pursue existing funding, saying
“I think that there could be tax dollars that are on the table at the county level that might be available to our district, our community, and that’s one of the things that I would like to explore more, before I can say I’m supporting a new tax initiative.” – Jennifer Henning, newly-appointed CSD Board Director
After Johnson and Henning were selected from the applicants, they were sworn onto the board, and participated in the meeting’s remaining agenda items.
