The Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors is holding a special session meeting tonight (January 13) to recertify their ability to hold online meetings. Reporter Jef Harmatz has a closer look at what this means.
At tonight’s special meeting, the board will vote on passing AB361, a measure that allows legislative bodies to conduct public meetings online. Late in 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom lifted certain emergency restrictions allowing California’s legislative bodies, including the Morongo Valley CSD board, to continue conducting remote meetings through AB361, but the measure must be voted on and certified by each legislative body every 30 days. The recertification of this measure is the only item on tonight’s agenda. The CSD board is scheduled to meet in regular session next Wednesday (December 19). Tonight’s meeting will held online and can be attended via the link below.
